

The Spanish names in parentheses are from the SEO/BirdLife list. This list's taxonomic treatment (designation and sequence of orders, families and species) and nomenclature (English and scientific names) are those of The Clements Checklist of Birds of the World, 2022 edition. Three species have not been recorded since 1950, 8 are endemic to Spanish islands, and one of the endemic species is extinct. 24 have been introduced by humans, six of which also have possibly wild-origin records. The avifauna of Spain included a total of 662 species recorded in the wild by 2022 according to Sociedad Española de Ornitología (SEO/BirdLife) with supplemental additions from Avibase.

The area covered by this list is mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, and three small Spanish enclaves on the North African shore. This is a list of the bird species recorded in Spain.
